Our new headline summer race

Introducing Get to Gdansk, the 2027 Schengen Challenge

One big summer race, four different start lines, four different ways to earn your place at the finish. However you get there, everyone crosses the same line in Gdansk.

Get to Gdansk is our new headline summer event, and the first edition of what we plan to run every summer under the Schengen Challenge banner. Rather than one race with one start line, we are running four separate races in parallel, each with its own format, its own start line and its own field of entrants. Races 1 and 2 both set off from Brussels, just at different times and in different formats, while Race 3 starts in Sarajevo and Race 4 in Barcelona. All four converge on a single, shared finish line and awards ceremony in Gdansk.

It is a bigger, more ambitious structure than anything we have run before, and this page is a first look while we finish locking down the details. Nothing here is final, and nothing is bookable yet. Register your interest below and we will keep you updated as things are confirmed, with a full launch planned for September or October 2026.

Why "Schengen Challenge"
To give you a rough idea of where you may or not be going for your planning
Every mandatory checkpoint sits inside the Schengen Zone

Across Races 1, 2 and 4, every checkpoint you need to visit to complete or win the fastest finish race is inside the Schengen Area. If you need a visa, you only have to plan for one zone, not a patchwork of different countries with different rules. Checkpoints stay a mystery until race day, as always, just a little more guidance on what ground you can expect to cover.

The one exception is Race 3, The Invitational, which is not restricted to the Schengen Zone and starts outside it, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its small, invite-only field is built around a harder challenge than staying inside Schengen borders.

You are still completely free to leave the zone if you think it gives you an advantage, if you just fancy the detour, or if you are chasing a Countries competition. Just know that stepping outside the Schengen Area will never be mandatory to finish or win the fastest finis.

The New Treasure Hunt

A brand new linear treasure hunt format, starting from the same Brussels start line a couple of hours after Race 1. Built to feel more experiential and challenge based than a straight race for the line. Tasks will not always be available overnight, to discourage overnight racing, though it is not against the rules if that is how you want to play it.

The Summer Invitational

Something new you have been asking for: our first ever summer invitational, limited to just 25 entrants. Unlike the other three races, this one is not restricted to the Schengen Zone. Starting in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the Wednesday, this is a much harder variation of our Short format. No taxis, no personal transport and no rental bikes or scooters. Checkpoints are revealed to you one at a time, keeping the pressure on all the way as our sprinters race for the line on Friday and Saturday.

  • StartWednesday 11 August, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • FinishSaturday 14 August, Gdansk
  • FormatHardest variant of Short, invite only

Bookending the week
Two one-off Metro Mayhem events
Pre-race, Saturday 7 August
London to Brussels Metro Mayhem

Before the racing even starts, join us for a one-off dual city Metro Mayhem, travelling from our home turf in London to Brussels. You get 12 hours on the Saturday and 8 checkpoints available in each city. Pre-plan your Eurostar, then gamble on whether more time in London or more time in Brussels is the better play. We will finish with a social in Brussels, the night before Races 1 and 2 get underway.

Post-race, Sunday 15 August
Tricity Metro Mayhem

Once the racing wraps up and the awards are done, stay on for a one-off extended Metro Mayhem across three cities. Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia together make up the Tricity, or Trojmiasto, and on the Sunday you will get the chance to explore all three before you head home.

Saturday 14 August, Gdansk

One finish line, our biggest awards yet

All four races converge on the same finish line, in a public location in Gdansk, on the Saturday. Whichever race you have entered and however you have made your way there, you will cross the same line and celebrate together at our biggest awards ceremony to date.
