How do we track events...
We use two different tracking approaches depending on the event format and category, each designed to balance racer control, live visibility, and verification needs.
You can use our tracking system through the web browser on your smart phone. You will be able to check in at checkpoints when close by and can also save your location anytime to add more detail to the map of your journey.
For some prize categories, there are additional requirements on how frequently your location must be submitted, such as at connections or when entering new countries.
This app gives you full control of when you share your location, rather than it always running in the background, protecting your battery and offering privacy.
We plan to move these features in to our own iOS/Android smartphone apps in 2026 along with background live tracking. Work has already begun on this.

For certain events, especially the competitors category, we use dedicated physical GPS trackers that provide live location updates.
Alternatively, some events use app-based, always-on tracking solutions to ensure continuous monitoring throughout the race.
